Asia Peace Medical Creation Institute
Creating Peace
Through Medicine.
From Medicine to Peace.
The Asia Peace Medical Creation Institute (APMCI) is an international medical exchange organization
dedicated to nurturing trust between people across borders, cultures, and positions
through medicine, education, and regional cooperation.
We view medicine not merely as “treatment techniques,”
but as a common language that upholds human dignity and supports peace.
Our Philosophy
Vision
APMCI perceives medicine not only as the provision of treatment and technology but as a foundation for cultivating human dignity, trust, and dialogue.
In medical settings, there remains a unique power for people to face one another and understand each other, transcending differences in nationality, culture, and social standing.
We believe this power can serve as the bedrock of peace.
Why Asia?
Asia possesses a cultural heritage where medicine has been nurtured within the relationships of family, community, and daily life.
The Asian perspective on medicine—which values “supporting and living together” alongside “curing”—holds renewed significance in modern society.
Based on these values of Asian medicine, our institute explores a form of peace grounded in human dignity and trust.
From Asia to the World
Starting from the regional medicine and medical ethics rooted in Asia, APMCI emphasizes how these concepts can be shared interactively with other regions.
Our goal is not to unilaterally spread specific values or models.
Instead, we seek to explore ways to cultivate human dignity and trust within respective contexts by learning together with North America, Africa, and other regions through medicine, education, and culture.
Background: Community Medicine
The concept of this institute is based, in part, on the history and experience of Medical Corporation Kikuno Kai and Kikuno Hospital, which have been engaged in community medicine and nursing care in Kagoshima Prefecture for many years.
Kikuno Kai and Kikuno Hospital are not institutions that perform “special” advanced medicine. Rather, through daily diagnosis, treatment, and care, they have quietly continued to provide medicine that values safety, peace of mind, and trust, staying close to the lives of people in the community.
The realization that the accumulation of such “ordinary medicine” nurtures trust between people and supports regional stability is one of the philosophical origins of our institute.
Current Status
APMCI is currently in the Conceptual & Preparation Phase.
We avoid exaggeration or premature announcements. Instead, we prioritize confirmation and consensus with stakeholders, accumulating small-scale, dialogue-based initiatives.
Moving Forward
We are gradually designing a place for learning and exchange, centered on young medical professionals and students, through dialogue crossing medicine, education, and culture.
We aim to quietly but steadily expand the possibility of medicine becoming a foundation for peace through practical wisdom rooted in community medicine and dialogue with people of diverse cultural backgrounds.

Dialogue & Comparative Research:
Western & Eastern Medicine
While basing our work on modern Western medicine, APMCI conducts dialogue and research from an academic and comparative perspective on the views of the body, treatment philosophies, and historical backgrounds held by Eastern Medicine and Traditional Medicine.
We do not judge one form of medicine as superior to another. Instead, we believe that understanding the differences in culture, environment, and views of humanity that nurtured these medical traditions contributes to the future of medicine and international understanding.
This activity aims for research, education, and international dialogue, not the provision of medical treatment or medical judgment.
Kagoshima & Nansatsu:
A Hub for “Medicine and Peace”
APMCI views the Nansatsu region of Kagoshima Prefecture as a vital base.
This land possesses community-rooted medicine, a rich natural environment, and a culture that has faced its history and memories.
Nansatsu holds significant meaning as a place to rethink “living” through medicine.
Network
APMCI collaborates with medical professionals and researchers in Japan and Asian countries, carefully nurturing networks from the conceptual stage.
